Week 13 - MKTG 349 - The Power of Keywords
As I mentioned in previous blogs the importance of keywords is so vital to a Campaigns success. In this blog I shall go into a deeper depth, and give practical advice on how to use them strategically and make the most out of them. With that being said, there are numerous analysis, so I shall do my best and try to explain all of them.
The first and most important thing to do is think like a customer. A business owner and a customer think completely opposite and sometimes the most successful types of businesses succeed in their industry because they know that instead of posting their product as it is, they search up things like a customer want such as " pink running shoes " and make their keywords detailed enough unlike general terms.
The second thing to do is sometimes make " target keywords ". Yes like I mentioned in the last paragraph is they make their keywords related to a specific product. For example there are many companies out there that sell glow in the dark chargers. The ones that make it to the top are the ones who have specific target specific keywords which makes them get more revenue at the end of the day.
One must not forget, you may put many similar keywords into different types of categories( products, service). The sad thing is many people go overboard and put so many keywords that they sometimes have nothing to do with the actual ad. As analyzed by many marketing people in the industry, the max you should have is 5-20
